Created by Designer Leatherworker John Hagger, Leather School gives you the chance to be the maker!

Make your own leather belt, leather shopping bag or satchel, or choose from our collection of time-tested leather patterns. You can make them with our help here in our (or rather, your) workshop on the beautiful Dartington Estate in South Devon. Come on your own or with a group of friends to create your own project under the expert supervision of Leather School’s tutors.

Leather School Kit Class

The perfect introduction to leathercraft

First, learn some Leather School Basics in an easy, fun, hands-on introduction to leather joining techniques – riveting, hand-stitching and snap fastenings. Then choose either a rivet kit or a stitch kit and make your own leather belt, pouch, phone case, notebook cover, key case or dog lead. Personalise it by stamping your name or adding die-cut design elements. More information >>



Braided Wristbands

Touch, smell and practice working with leather & tools

NB:This is a seasonal class, check the calendar to see when it is next scheduled.

Join us outside the Workshop on the grass (inside if it’s raining) and make a wristband for yourself or for your best friend. Choose from two styles of wristband. Stamp your initials, add a detail in colourful leather to make it unique.
